The students’ work will be recognized again, Cardell noted, as the works will be displayed in the Oak Knoll Connelly Conference Room during the Upper School Dance Concert on April 22. “I am proud of our increased participation in this show over the years and of the honors bestowed upon our fine young artists,” Cardell said. Oak Knoll Upper School Creative Arts Teacher Will Cardell said he is thrilled to see students’ participation grow, as they have submitted work to the annual exhibition since 1998, when there was a single Oak Knoll participant. The pieces included myriad mediums such as watercolor, pastel, mixed media, and both traditional and digital photography. The Oak Knoll artists’ work was among 450 pieces from students in 26 local private and public high schools on display between Feb. It was the second year in a row Watt received recognition in the exhibition, as her graphite drawing of a pair of sneakers garnered her a third place award in 2015.
